Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

Rately is a subscription-based software service (SaaS). All payments are processed by Paddle.com, which acts as our Merchant of Record. This means Paddle handles billing, invoicing, sales tax, and refund processing on our behalf.

This policy outlines your rights regarding refunds, cancellations, and subscription management.

2. Subscription Plans

Rately offers the following paid subscription plans:

  • Growth Plan — $49/month (or annual equivalent), for single restaurant locations
  • Pro Plan — $79/month base (or annual equivalent), for multi-location restaurants and agencies, with additional locations at $29/month each

Both plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) and renew automatically until cancelled.

3. Free Trial

New users receive a free trial period to evaluate Rately before committing to a paid plan. During the trial, you have access to core features with limited functionality. No payment information is required to start a trial.

If you choose not to subscribe after the trial, your account will remain in read-only mode. No charges will be applied.

4. Refund Policy

7-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If you are not satisfied with Rately, you may request a full refund within 7 days of your initial subscription purchase. This applies to both monthly and annual plans.

To request a refund, email support@rately.io with your account email and the reason for your request. Refunds are processed by Paddle and typically appear within 5–10 business days.

After 7 Days

After the initial 7-day window, refunds are not available for the current billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and your access will continue until the end of your current billing cycle.

Annual Plans

For annual subscriptions cancelled after the 7-day refund window, we offer a pro-rata refund for the remaining unused months, minus the difference between annual and monthly pricing for the months already used. Contact support@rately.io to request a pro-rata refund.

No Refund Scenarios

Refunds will not be issued in the following cases:

  • Requests made after the 7-day money-back window for monthly plans
  • Accounts terminated for violation of our Terms of Service
  • Failure to cancel before automatic renewal (you may still cancel for future periods)
  • Dissatisfaction due to features not yet built or roadmap items

5. How to Cancel

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the following methods:

  1. Dashboard: Navigate to Dashboard → Billing and click “Cancel subscription”
  2. Email: Send a cancellation request to support@rately.io
  3. Paddle: Use the subscription management link in any Paddle receipt email

When you cancel:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period
  • You will not be charged again after cancellation
  • Your data is preserved for 90 days in read-only mode
  • After 90 days, your data may be permanently deleted unless you reactivate

6. Plan Changes

Upgrading

When you upgrade from Growth to Pro, the price difference is prorated for the remainder of your billing cycle. Your new plan takes effect immediately.

Downgrading

When you downgrade from Pro to Growth, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You retain access to Pro features until then. Additional location data is preserved but becomes inaccessible on the Growth plan.

7. Billing Disputes

If you notice an unexpected charge or believe you were billed in error, please contact us at support@rately.io before filing a chargeback with your bank. We resolve billing disputes quickly and are committed to fair outcomes.

Since Paddle is our Merchant of Record, disputes may also be handled directly through Paddle's support.

8. Currency & Taxes

All prices are listed in USD. Paddle automatically handles currency conversion and applicable sales tax or VAT based on your location. The final price you see at checkout includes all taxes.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email and/or a notice on our website. Your continued use of Rately after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
